Delightful Delhi

Delhi is great city to be in especially since it is so strategically located. Delhi takes the lion’s share of brickbats for is the weather which can get infuriating at times. However there is absolutely no reason to despair since there is some cool relief and solace you can find in hill stations around Delhi.   All you need to do is to make a plan and tag along a friend and escape to the superheated air of Delhi into the cool and beautiful hill stations near Delhi.

Manali

Situated at a height of 6398 feet, Manali is located at the end of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh.  Being a very popular tourist attraction, it remains a place where the sights will stay on in your memory for a long time. Dotted with high snow capped peaks, it gives you some awesome views of the Himalayas.  Manali is also sometimes called as the Switzerland of India owing to its similarities with the Swiss landscape. Manali is a place which has something for every type of tourist and is sure to enthrall your senses to the fullest. Also with a bundle of hotels in Manali, accommodation is never a problem

Places to Visit in Manali

There are tons of options to explore when you are visiting Manali. What stands out for Manali is the unforgettable scenery. You must take the trip to Rohtang Pass which is located at a height of 13,054 Feet. Combined with cold mountain air whizzing past you, and sipping on some nice warm tea, it seems almost like a dream. Do  remember to pack in those warm clothes so you can beat the cold and also the locals tend to swindle you into buying a hideous warm clothes at atrocious rates. If you are the type who loves visiting temples and religious places then do visit to the Hadimba Temple. The temple is built over a huge rock; It’s an ideal place for photo lovers since there is dense greenery that surrounds it.

Take a trip to the Solang valley – which is also known as snow point, this lush green valley offers picture perfect views of Manali and the surrounding mountains. This is the perfect place for thrill seekers as para gliding is offered here other than that, there are plenty of places to visit in Manali like, the Naggar Fort, Vashisht Hot water springs, Rahala falls and Monastaries. If you are bitten by the adventure bug, Manali is the perfect foil with activities like Paragliding (at Solang valley), Water Rafting, Rappelling (a must try!), Rock Climbing, trekking, mountain biking and lots more.  If you are a shopaholic, Manali’s has lots of shops selling local handicrafts, interesting knick nacks and not so interesting Chinese gadgets (stay away!).  And if you are a foodie, do try the fresh and mouth watering Himalayan Trout fish (finger licking guaranteed)

All in all Manali although a touch crowded, offers something for every type of traveler. It’s the one of the perfect places to visit near Delhi since it gives you a perfect mix of awesome scenery, cool climate, great food, and an adventure seekers delight.  Manali is a must visit if you haven’t ever seen snow and place that keeps you coming back for more.
